Party at ER

Bill and MaryBeth's oldest grandson asked to have his birthday party at the yard. And what a fun time it turned out to be!

Here is the birthday boy now beyond excited to have his friends at "his rock yard." His friends played in the sand, top soil, and mulches.

We pulled the bob cat out so everyone could crawl around inside it. But i still can't decide if this was for the kids or the dads.

Wyatt is one lucky bugger for having grandparents which have 12 acres of dirt, rocks, and equipment!

Get ready for bath time Mom and Dad's!

Bill drove the dump truck down and made it dump. The kids LOVED this!

Check out the cake their daughter, Tiffany, made for her 4 year old its a Dirt Cake! Talk about a flash back to awesome childhood memories. And of course she put it in a dump truck.

Wyatt LOVED his cake, cookies, drinks from the "work" cooler, and his rock candy. Can you tell Tiffany had a dirt theme?

Wyatt's girlfriend Rachel's grandma was AMAZING and brought Rachel's horse out to the party. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! SHE ROCKS!!! Babe the horse was a HUGE hit.

Hey Bill there is a horse in the limestone screenings!

Here are the sweet party guests while they are getting ready for a "Sand Ride" around the yard.

Once again Bill put the equipment to work and the kids LOVED it.

Every child that comes out to the store with their parents are always playing with the gravel, wanting to climb on the boulders, and bounce around with excitement when we use the equipment. So of course the Dirt Themed Party at Edmond Rock would be the PERFECT 4 year old's party.

To top off his awesome party the birthday boy rode Babe up and over the top soil. In his little world this is huge.

Happy Birthday Wyatt! Where did your shoes go?

Way to go ray!

"Hey guys look what I found!" Ray said while carrying this 4 foot long snake skin. "Good thing it was just the skin and not the snake!!" Christel exclaimed after checking out the 4 foot of creepy.

A couple of days later.......Ray came into the office......"Hey guys I found the snake the skin belonged to....."
AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

The Summit on Waterloo

For a couple of days MaryBeth and Bill have been no where to be found...hmmmm....where oh where are the bosses???

They are spending time taking in this view....

....with these boys! Their oldest daughter Tiffany sent them off to a long weekend with their grandsons to their lake house. This was a much needed break. They needed to go take a breath and just be grandparents for awhile.

The bosses just called to check in with the store and were getting ready to get on the boat and go to a marina to eat lunch. The boys like doing this because when they are done they get to feed their left overs to the ducks and fish!

So who is holding down fort Edmond Rock?! Well the girls of course! The Smith Sisters are having a blast helping customers, completing orders, and getting some gossiping done. Tiffany loves coming back and helping out at the store. Before the kiddos she LOVED her job at Edmond Rock.

So why in the world is their a picture of Christel looking like a goof holding a cinnamon roll?

Because the fine people of The Summit surprised us on Friday with homemade cinnamon rolls and they were beyond delightful! What sweet people to think of us and what sweet rolls!!!

Our taste buds highly recommend The Summit on Waterloo in north Edmond. They ROCK!! Our waist lines on the other hand are not their biggest fans.

Property of Edmond Rock

The deal is done.

The doors have been closed.

The final offer is on the table.

Paula Adbul is no longer a judge.

Huh? What I meant to say is Bill and MaryBeth have decided which one of the kittens will be a permanent fixture out at the store.

World I would like you to meet, Wilbur Smith.

Christel's dog, Otis, has met Wilbur and he likes his new family member.

You know you are little when you make a Shih Tzu look like a giant.

Too busy to do much of anything!

It is busy around here right now. So much so Christel does not even have 4 minutes to write a blog for your enjoyment. Next post she will let the cat out of the bag on the news.

So some pictures of our babies will have to do. This little guy is Potter.

This is Norma Jean. The one and only little girl of the gang of 6! The mark above her lip will give you a hint on why we named her Norma Jean. hint**Some Like it Hot, Seven Year Itch
Okay You give up!?! Marilyn Monro's real name! We are so tricky around here.

They went on their first adventure this week. And Dr. Vet said the kittens are perfect. But we already knew that. =)

February Tornado

This was our view of the February tornado which damaged much of north Edmond. The store was in it's "quiet zone." Everything was still, no rain, no hail, just an eerie quiet.

Stephanie took this photo with her phone and we did not realize what we were witnessing until we got the photo up on the computer. We hope to never see this site again.

6 days old

Our furry angels are still perfect.

Their eyes started opening today.

We started to look to see if they are boys or girls today. 8 more days till we can hold them.

This is the shower/holiday storage closet they are hanging out in. So we pulled some stuff out and moved a box in for Peng and her kittens. We cut the top off the box before they made it home for easy viewing. After we coo over the sweetness we are able to close it back up so it is dark and cozy for the little ones.

4 days old

We think the babies have already doubled in size. Is this normal !?!?

The sign on the front door to the office has officially been changed out from

"Do not let pregnant cat out the door"
to
"Do not let the NEW MOM or her BABIES out the door!"

Our "regulars" are getting a kick out of checking in on our cat seeing how she is doing. Even though we are not showing mommy and the babies off yet. In a few weeks we might bring them out but for now they are tucked safe away in their dark box in the shower. Which we strategically cut the top off to make a lid for easy viewing on our part!

Now click on the picture to enlarge it so you can see the kittens really well!!!

I spy something sweet

Look what Christel found Sunday when she came up to the store!
...

...
Little momma thought the shower in the ladies restroom was a good spot to have her babies. All 6 of them! No wonder she was MASSIVE.
In a delicate petite way, of course.

Good Things Ahead

...

..
This funny looking rock man is an Inukshuk. For the past year Christel has been telling everyone who would listen about her dream of an Inukshuk on the yard. And finally her dream came true when Bill told her to pick out the stones she likes and the building would take place the next day. Yippee!

An Inukshuk is a man made stone landmark used by the Inuit of the Artic region of North America. It marked "good things ahead." Such as good hunting and safe passage.

And now this rock man marks
The Best Stone Yard in Oklahoma!

Bus Driver...MOVE THAT BUS!

oh....wait......that is not a bus....it's our puurrfect cat Peng.
She is now officially EXTREMELY pregnant.

She is larger than her last go around of kittens so I am guessing there are 4 little mini's in there. The kittens are to the size now we can not only feel them but see them move. We can look down at her Kirstie Alley stomach and it will be misshapen kind of like Michael Jackson's nose. ohhhh sorry. Too soon?

Ding Ding Ding! Round 2

It is about time for round two of kittens!

But this time we are doing it right. We have the office locked up like Alcatraz and Peng is our prisoner. (insert creepy laugh)

No we are not meanies....we just want to make sure this round of kittens is not born in a pile of boulders! Also after the babies are 5-6 weeks we can get Peng into the vet. Since we did not catch her in time after her last litter.
